These are some of our favourite smoothies to help add a few extra nutrients into our day. These are really tasty and suitable for 9 months to 109.

Feel free to add little extras like Chia seeds, Flax or Hemp seeds to add extra protein and Omega 3's. There's always room to add a little spinach and avocado too even if the ingredients don't list them.

The fun of smoothies is that you can add all sorts so use these as a guide and see what you can develop yourself.

The instructions are the same for all: Place all the ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth.

Each recipe will make approximately 3 servings in our 140ml pouches or 2 servings in our 200ml pouches.

5-6 cm chunk cucumber (peeled or half peeled)
40-60ml liquid (water, coconut water or apple juice)

Super Red Smoothie

I love using beetroot in smoothies. The colour is just amazing and it's so healthy and full antioxidants. You can taste it's earthy flavour in this smoothie but it's not overpowering so it's great for kids. This recipe is also low in sugars and could also handle a few spinach leaves thrown in if you fancy!

1 small cooked beetroot (I use the ready cooked ones NOT in vinegar)
5 strawberries
1 apple peeled and cored
half a small avocado
squeeze of lime + 40-60ml liquid (water, coconut water or apple juice)

Orange, Mango and Pineapple smoothie

This recipe was loosely copied from an Innocent Smoothie but I found it lacking in actual blended fruit so we now make our own version. I have also added avocado to provide some extra healthy fats.

1 small ripe banana

40g pineapple chunks (fresh or frozen)

40g Mango chunks (fresh or frozen)

Half a peach (or a few frozen slices)

150ml orange juice (freshly squeezed or store-bought juice)

Half a small avocado (1/4 of a larger avocado)

Strawberry, Mango and Carrot Smoothie

This is a really simple smoothie but It's delicious and we love the colour! I use a nutribullet to blend my smoothies but if you are using a less powerful blender it may be wise to grate the carrot first.

90g frozen Mango chunks (fresh is also good)
90g strawberries
1 medium carrot  washed and roughly chopped
40-60ml clear liquid (water, coconut water or apple juice)

Pineapple, Mango, cucumber, spinach and avocado smoothie

This refreshing smoothie is a beautiful light green coloured smoothie bursting with Vitamins so a great option if your little ones don’t like a really dark green smoothie. The pineapple keeps it refreshing and tropical!  A good source of dietary fibre, healthy fats and Vitamin C.  It tastes delicious too!

150g Pineapple chunks (fresh or frozen)
100g Mango flesh (fresh or frozen)
1 handful of spinach
1/2 small avocado (1/4 large)
6-8 cm chunk cucumber (skin on)
40-60ml liquid (I used a splash of apple juice and a splash of water)

For all smoothies just Place all the ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth.

They are all great for adults and kids so get blending and enjoy!!
