This week is International Zero Waste week which is now in it’s 11th year!

Running from Monday 3rd September to Friday 7th: The aim of Zero Waste Week is to encourage everyone to reduce landfill and preserve waste. We generate about 177 million tonnes of waste every year in England alone. This poor use of resources costs businesses and households money and causes environmental damage that could be avoided.

It’s not too late to join in with Zero Waste Week and do anything you can to help reduce the volume of waste going to landfill. Give something a go this week and maybe you will find it easier than you thought....maybe you could even keep it up for ever?

There’s lots you can do.... avoid pre-packaged products, buy re-usable products, up-cycle, recycle or re-use. It's not just packaging but think about your food waste. what can you cook and freeze before it spoils.

Take a look at the Zero Waste Week website for lots of ideas and share our blog posts this week to help spread the word.

If everyone makes a little effort we could see a massive change in the amount of waste we produce in the future.

Nom Nom Kids is a proud supporter and sponsor of Zero Waste Week. As a mum of 2, I know how tempting and easy it is to opt for convenience over sustainability. As a family we are not perfect but we try to do as much as I can to save waste. I cook as much as possible from scratch. recycle everything that I can and i developed my reusable food pouches and snack bags to help me and other families to reduce the amount of disposable food pouches and packaging we send to landfill.

If you want to know more check out the rest of the website using the navigation above this post. Feel free to contact me if you would like to know more. You can also take a look at the the impact of single use plastic here.
