Avocado is an amazing first food for your baby. It's often thought of as a vegetable but it's actually a fruit. Unlike other fruits it's low in sugars and high in Omega 3 brain boosting fats. It's really easy to digest and contains high levels of Antioxidants and Vitamin E which are great for little one's immune systems.

To serve as a first food Mash ripe avocado flesh with a little of your baby’s usual milk (breast or formula). Serve cool or room temperature.

The only problem with avocado is that it browns really quickly especially when mashed up so you normally have to prepare and serve it fresh.

The Solution

Fill a reusable food pouch with your freshly mashed avocado. Ensure to squeeze out all the air and seal the zipper. The mashed up avocado will stay green and fresh for up to 48 hours in the fridge.

For this test we used one of our unprinted pouch samples but try this in our 140ml Animal pouches or 200ml Monster pouches.

We recommend purchasing our 140ml Animal pouches for weaning and younger toddlers as the size makes it easier to handle and the familiar animal design encourages talking.
